The Salvation Army gives away school supplies

60 children in need are ready for school

EL CAJON, Calif. (August 11, 2015) – The Salvation Army Corps Community Center in El Cajon will give 60 East County and Back Country children school supplies for help prepare them to go back to school.

Each child will receive $100 worth of clothes, shoes and undergarments. Students will also receive school supplies and a new backpack. Walmart has pledged a 10% discount to children shopping with The Salvation Army.

Volunteers include members of the Rotary Club, the Lions Club and Salvation Army Advisory Board members.

“We know that going back to a new school year is hard, especially when you don’t have basic things like clothes that fit,” says Captain Terry Masango, Administrator and Pastor of The Salvation Army El Cajon Corps. “We aim to help eliminate that problem by supplying children with everything they need.”
