(May 15, 2014) - The Salvation Army now has four mobile hydration units circulating in areas impacted by the fires.  The Army has handed out nearly 1,000 water bottles and Gatorade to first responders and evacuees. The Army also offers snacks throughout the day and hot coffee and rolls in the morning.

With centers in Oceanside and Escondido, as well as throughout the county, The Salvation Army is prepared whatever support as needed.

“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by these fires,” says Lt. James Parks of the Escondido Salvation Army Corps Community Center.  “That cold bottle of water is a way of letting people know their community cares about them.”

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Rolando is offering free public ice skating on Friday from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.  The Education Building will be open all day as a place for people of all ages to escape the heat (children 11 or younger must be accompanied by an adult).
