The Salvation Army $20 Challenge

Dec 26, 2017 | by Rachael Fowler

Help us raise thousands in one day by turning your $20 donation into $100

SAN DIEGO (December 2017) – In a twist to traditional Red Kettle fundraising, The Salvation Army is introducing a special $20 Bill Challenge to San Diego on Friday, December 15. Every $20 dollar bill donated to a Red Kettle in the city of San Diego will be matched with $80, making $20 turn into $100.

The Salvation Army Advisory Board and an anonymous donor will donate $80 for every $20 bill donated to a Salvation Army Red Kettle, up to $8300, helping The Salvation Army raise thousands of dollars in just one day.

San Diegans can Do The Most Good and make their donation quadruple in worth on December 15.

“We hope that this unique opportunity will drive people to donate to the Red Kettles on that day,” says Major George Baker, Salvation Army Divisional Leader. “We are grateful for the donors who made this happen.”

Bell Ringers are posted with Red Kettles in front of Walmart stores, Ralphs, Albertsons, Vons, Big Lots, Fashion Valley and other stores to accept donations from generous San Diegans.

All funds raised in Red Kettles benefit Salvation Army programs right here in San Diego and help provide meals, toys and other support to those in need.
