The Salvation Army hosts 53rd Annual Women of Dedication Luncheon

12 Wonder Women honored for outstanding community work

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 2018)—  The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will host its 53^rd annual Women of Dedication luncheon on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 to honor 12 of the community’s most dedicated volunteers and thank them for their time, talent and spirit in volunteering.

The Women of Dedication luncheon will be held at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina, 333 West Harbor Drive. A reception, silent auction and shopping boutiques will be available beginning at 10:30am, and the luncheon, program and presentation of honorees will begin at 12:00pm noon.  

This year marks the its 53^rd year of honoring incredible women who give back in their community, making it one of the longest-running charitable events in San Diego. The theme, “Wonder Women,” acknowledges the remarkable lives and actions of the honorees.

“We are so pleased and proud of the unique women being honored this year,” says Major Jeanne Baker, Salvation Army Director of Women’s Ministries. “It’s a special opportunity to be able to highlight amazing women who have made such a big difference in our community.

The “Wonder Women” being honored are: Deborah Cross, Suzi Day, Laurnie Durisoe, Angela Harris, Dayna Hoff, Kimberly Hunt, Regina Kurtz, Sally Watt Oxley, Rana Sampson, Claudia Thompson, Vickie Turner and Kathryn Vaughn. Chairs of the event are Kristy Gregg, Dee Ammon and Molly Cartmill.

All proceeds from this luncheon will benefit local Salvation Army programs that focus on homelessness and human trafficking.
