The Salvation Army celebrates 53 years of Dedication
Women of Dedication Reveal 12 honorees
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 2017) – The Salvation Army Women of Dedication Event, themed ‘Wonder Women,’ turns 53 next year, and on Thursday, November 2, event chairs Kristy Gregg, Dee Ammon, and Molly Cartmill will host a reception to reveal the 12 newest honorees. The reception will be held at the La Jolla Country Club from 5:30-7:30pm.
In an event closed to the public, the next 12 Women of Dedication will be revealed. The program will include a presentation and biography of each new Woman of Dedication.
Beginning in 1965 as a fundraiser for The Salvation Army, the goal was to honor powerful and influential women in the community. “This year’s Women of Dedication are so involved in the community and we’re excited to honor them,” says Major Jeanne Baker, Salvation Army Divisional Director of Women’s Ministries.
Now in its fifty-third year, Women of Dedication is one of San Diego’s longest-running charity events. Each spring, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary hosts a lavish luncheon where 12 of the community’s most dedicated volunteers are honored and thanked for their gifts of time, talent and spirit. The Auxiliary’s largest fundraiser, all proceeds from the luncheon stay in San Diego and benefit social service programs of The Salvation Army.
The presentation reception precedes the Women of Dedication Luncheon on May 30, 2018, that will publicly honor this year’s 12 Women of Dedication.
