Mobilizing The Next Generation

   Volunteering. Networking. Fundraising

Echelon seeks to mobilize the next generation for The Salvation Army by providing opportunities for young adults to engage with the organization through fellowship and networking, donations and fundraising, and service and volunteering.

If you are interested in joining Echelon or would like more information,
please email adriana.thiele@usw.salvationarmy.org.

Who We Are

Echelon is a community of diverse young adults collectively rising-up to serve The Salvation Army through networking, fundraising and service. Echelon was founded in 2010 in Dallas, Texas and has since been branded as the National Young Adult Auxiliary of The Salvation Army. Echelon's local chapter in San Diego, California was established in 2019.

What We Do

Homeless Intervention Services
The Salvation Army serves those who are experiencing homelessness and in need of assistance. Echelon members assist in various ways, such as drives to help gather much needed materials and distributions. Learning the needs of their local corps, Echelon San Diego recently held a drive for can openers and sturdy, reusable grocery bags.

Youth and Family Services
San Diego Echelon loves to help youth and families by supporting The Salvation Army's programs. Whether it's organizing back-to-school drives or distributing food, they are always ready to help. Throughout the holiday season they stay involved by serving holiday meals, ringing the bell during our Red Kettle Campaign, toy drives, and stuffing stockings for local families.

Senior Programs
The Salvation Army takes an active role in addressing the needs of aging adults through various programs, including our Silvercrest Senior Residences. Echelon San Diego supports these efforts by providing much needed interactions, such as senior art classes, carnivals, and special events. Echelon finds creative ways to make our senior neighbors feel appreciated and connected, such as bringing Valentine's Day flowers and writing care cards for holidays.
